WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today announced Jacob Walters of Upton as the First Place winner for Kentucky’s Second District in the 2013 Congressional Art Competition.
Walters, a student at Hart County High School, titled his artwork "Quilt of Life" and describes it as "a representation of dreams as well as a dedication to my grandmother."
"I would like to congratulate Jacob," said Congressman Guthrie. "We received many beautiful pieces of artwork this year and Jacob should be very proud of his work. I look forward to welcoming Jacob to Washington and putting his outstanding artwork on display."
The Congressional Art Competition, which began in 1982, allows the winning pieces of art to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one full year.
